Chargeback & Dispute Policy
Please contact us before contacting your bank. We resolve almost every issue within one business day — a chargeback takes up to 90 and usually gets you less.

This policy explains what a chargeback does, why it is a slower route than talking to us, and how K&Y, Inc. DBA DTF4Prints handles disputes when they are filed.
Talk to us first
This is not a formality
A chargeback freezes the transaction while your card issuer investigates. During that freeze we are not permitted to reprint or refund, because doing so risks paying twice. So filing a chargeback actively removes the fastest remedy available to you. Email info@dtf4prints.com or call (714) 523-0344 and give us one business day.
| Contacting us | Filing a chargeback | |
|---|---|---|
| Typical response time | 1 business day | Up to 90 days |
| Reprint available | Yes, often same day | No — frozen during investigation |
| Partial resolutions possible | Yes — partial refund, reprint, credit | No — all or nothing |
| Need to return the product | No | Sometimes required by the issuer |
| Your account with us | Unaffected | May be restricted pending outcome |
What a chargeback is
A chargeback is a forced reversal of a card payment, initiated through your bank rather than through the merchant. It exists to protect consumers from fraud and from merchants who will not respond. It is a genuinely important protection, and if we ever stop responding to you, you should use it.
It is not designed as a substitute for a refund request, and using it that way tends to produce a worse outcome for the customer than simply asking.
Valid reasons to dispute
We will not contest a dispute where any of the following is true, and you should not have to argue for it:
- You did not authorize the charge and did not place the order
- You were charged more than the order total, or charged twice for the same order
- You were charged for an order we cancelled
- We failed to respond to you within a reasonable period after you contacted us
In each of these cases, please still email us — we would rather refund you directly and immediately than have your bank do it in ninety days.
Disputes we will contest
We will respond to the issuer with our production and delivery records where a dispute is filed for a reason our policies already address:
- “Item not received” where carrier tracking confirms delivery to the address you supplied
- “Not as described” where the transfer matches the artwork and specifications you submitted
- Change of mind on a custom, made-to-order transfer
- A print or application problem that was never reported to us first
- Damage caused by pressing outside our recommended settings
In these cases we supply the order record, your submitted artwork, production timestamps, packing photographs where available, carrier tracking, and our correspondence with you.
What happens if you file one
Your issuer notifies us
We receive the dispute, usually several days after you file it. The order amount is withheld from us immediately.
We compile the record
We respond with the documentation listed above within the issuer's deadline.
Your issuer decides
The decision rests entirely with your card issuer, not with us. This typically takes 30–90 days.
The outcome stands
Neither of us can appeal an issuer's final decision through this route.
Accounts and future orders
We do not restrict accounts for filing a legitimate dispute. Where a chargeback is filed without any prior contact and is resolved in our favor, we may require prepayment by an alternative method on future orders, or decline further orders. This is not punitive — it reflects that we cannot absorb the cost of goods already produced and shipped.
If a dispute was resolved against us and you later want to reorder, contact us. In most cases we would rather work it out and keep you as a customer.
Fraudulent charges
If you see a charge from DTF4Prints or K&Y, Inc. that you did not make, contact us at info@dtf4prints.com immediately as well as your bank. We will cancel the order, refund it, and give you whatever information you need for your fraud report. We would much rather stop a fraudulent order before it ships.
